Each cell is monitored individually by both the battery and the tool body giving total protection to extend the life of the batteries significantly.
Panasonic use Lithium Cobalt Cells which have been proven to last significantly longer than Manganese Cells, they also give a higher energy density giving stronger overall performance, whilst also being considerably lighter than conventional NiCD&NiMH batteries.
