Makita has launched its first cordless twin 18V LXT angle drill and it is the real deal. What’s more, it will soon be available to order from Anglia Tool Centre.

The DDA460ZK boasts all the power and performance of a mains machine. Furthermore, it benefits from the freedom and manoeuvrability that only a battery powered tool can provide.

Indeed, the LXT angle drill is powered by two 18V batteries. The brushless motor’s 36V power not only massively extends runtime but substantially increases power.

Comfort, Control, Convenience

Other impressive components include its Automatic Torque Drive Technology (ADT) and soft start function.

ADT automatically adjusts the drilling speed according to the load conditions to achieve optimum drilling performance. Meanwhile, the auto power-off function automatically shuts down, or times-out, if the trigger is not pulled for five minutes.

Soft start, on the other hand, brings its own benefits to the table. In drilling mode it reduces the sudden torque load on start up.  In operation the torque limiter will cut the motor drive should the drill bit snag, subsequently providing further operator protection.
